'Quiver full cooking' is like cooking for an army.

'Quiver full cooking' is like cooking for an army. Most recipes today are designed for a family of four and may include a little extra for a visitor or for seconds. We have 10 at the table every single night, and often have visitors too, sometimes doubling our numbers and more. Besides that our big boys eat such hefty amounts I cannot lift their 'mountain peaked' plates with one hand, rather I push them across the table. (And they are still skinny.) Jessica(19), Erica(10) and Jo(12) love cooking and have all being cooking full meals on their own for years, they love to include dessert too if they can sweet talk their Mom! Although Jessica has less time to cook now with her studies, she does a splendid meal with original creations. Erica and Jo are forever fighting over whose turn it is to cook. Of course the younger kids love to cook too, but I have to be in the mood for a big mess when they cook for/with me! I aim to give our big quantity recipes here. There is some irony in that I seldom follow a recipe myself. But if it works well for me, I will share it with you here. Of course quantities are always going to be large, so half it or quarter it if need be, otherwise use these recipes when you do a cook up for someone sick, or when you expect visitors!

Oh and I nearly forgot...we have a Celiac in the family so all our recipes are Gluten Free friendly, we only use Gluten Free flour! So chose your favourite Flour and use it when I say flour.

We never use colouring, preservative, MSG etc. products i.e additive free....so recipes are generally failsafe or of  Royal Prince Alfred food intollerance standard. Although we do do Silicates and amines these days, if you are intolerant in this areas, you will know how to adapt.

All recipes are child friendly and all decorating is done by the children so is gorgeously naive!

This blog is going to be our big home economics project! I hope you enjoy sitting at our table with us!
